The recent Housing Days event in Gabon, held from October 29 to 31, drew a large crowd of over 4,000 people, with more than 2,500 forms collected. The event, which took place at the Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema esplanade, brought together various stakeholders, including promoters, developers, and banks, to present their offers and provide information to attendees. The event aimed to address the housing needs of the population, with a focus on providing access to land and affordable housing.

The event featured a range of partners, including PH Immo, BGFI Bank, Orabank, Urban Life, C.I.T.P, Addoha Gabon, and the Société nationale immobilière (SNI). Attendees had the opportunity to inquire about prices, land acquisition procedures, and credit conditions. According to Ismaël Makanga, a member of the organizing committee and technical advisor to the minister, the event was a success, with many attendees showing interest in the various offers presented.

The event was officially opened by Vice President Alexandre Barro Chambrier, who emphasized the importance of securing land, increasing the housing supply, and facilitating access to affordable housing. He highlighted the progress made in the past 10 months, including the production of 16,000 land titles and the launch of 3,100 housing units in various locations. The minister of housing, Mays Mouissi, stressed the need for long-term mortgage financing and more flexible credit conditions.

One of the key objectives of the event was to bring together demanders and operators, without intermediaries, to facilitate the acquisition of land and housing. The collected forms will be used to identify the needs of attendees, ranging from plots of land to housing units. The government plans to engage in consultations with banks and administrators to follow up on the requests received.

Various stakeholders presented their offers during the event, including PH Immo, which proposed plots of land with land titles and notary fees included, starting at 2.22 million CFA francs. Orabank announced a mortgage credit offer with an interest rate between 8.5% and 11%, with a maximum repayment period of 15 years. Attendees were also informed about the procedure for regularizing land purchases made through private agreements.

The event provided an opportunity for attendees to access information and clarify their doubts about the housing acquisition process. Many attendees, like Elsa Mbongo, a public agent from Port-Gentil, expressed their interest in the offers presented and left the event with clear information about the available options. The government aims to transform the collected forms into finalized dossiers and facilitate the acquisition of land and housing.

The Housing Days event is part of the government's efforts to address the housing needs of the population, with a focus on providing access to affordable housing and securing land. The event demonstrated the commitment of the government and various stakeholders to work together to find solutions to the housing challenges facing the country.
