Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reiterated his administration's commitment to providing a conducive business environment for companies operating in the state. He made this statement during an event organised by Renaissance Africa Energy Company (RAEC) to commemorate Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary in Port Harcourt. The governor emphasized that Rivers State remains a safe and attractive destination for energy investments.
Fubara, represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Barrister Sonny Ewule, described Renaissance Africa Energy Company as a strategic partner of the state. He noted that the company's success would contribute to the development and prosperity of Rivers State. The governor highlighted that when the company produces more oil and gas, the communities benefit, and when they engage the state's youths, there will be peace in the creeks and waterways.
The governor expressed appreciation to Renaissance Africa Energy Company for choosing to celebrate Nigeria's Independence Anniversary in Rivers State. He stated that this gesture demonstrates the company's confidence in and commitment to the state. Fubara also called on the company to deepen its commitment to Nigeria through responsible environmental stewardship in the Niger Delta.

In a related development, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has set a target of mobilising at least 10 million Nigerian students to participate in the 2027 general elections. The association aims to promote informed and responsible participation among students in the electoral process. NANS described students as a significant constituency in Nigeria's democratic process.
NANS has constituted a National Election Mobilisation Committee to coordinate voter sensitisation, mobilisation, and monitoring of students' participation in election-related activities across the country. The committee will be headed by the NANS President as Director-General, with the NANS Senate President as Deputy Director. The association has decentralised the committee across the six geopolitical zones.
The National Election Mobilisation Committee will commence immediate sensitisation, mobilisation, and monitoring of students across campuses and institutions. NANS directed the committee to coordinate its activities with existing NANS structures, student unions, and other stakeholders in the various zones. The association aims to translate the large student population into active participation in the electoral process.
