Ford South Africa has added the limited-edition Mustang GT Nite Pony pack to its local line-up, giving buyers of the seventh-generation V8 sports car a version with blacked-out exterior detailing. The pack is priced at R1 375 000 and keeps the Mustang GT’s engine, transmission, and drive modes while changing its appearance. This new variant is designed to appeal to customers who want the performance and heritage of Mustang GT but with a unique look.
The Mustang GT Nite Pony pack features 19×9-inch front and 19×9.5-inch rear black-painted aluminium wheels, black GT, 5.0 and Pony badges, black mirror caps, and a black grille. A painted black roof is available across all exterior colours, and a large rear spoiler finished in Absolute Black and headlamps with black bezels complete the treatment. The pack is offered in six exterior colours: Oxford White, Vapor Blue, Orange Fury, Race Red, Molten Magenta, and Absolute Black.
The Nite Pony pack’s contrasting black elements are designed to stand out most on the lighter colours. Power comes from Ford’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre Coyote V8 engine, which produces 328 kW at 7 000 r/min and 540 N.m at 5 100 r/min. This engine is paired with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and drive goes to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential.
The Mustang GT Nite Pony pack also features selectable Drive Modes, including Normal, Sport, Track, Drag Strip, Slippery, and Custom. These modes adjust steering effort, engine response, transmission, and electronic stability control to suit the driver and conditions. According to Ryan Searle, Director of Sales Operations at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa, the Nite Pony pack “is designed for customers who want the performance and heritage of Mustang GT, but with an appearance that stands apart.”
More than 4 700 Mustangs have been sold in South Africa to date, with the model becoming officially available to a broader local audience with the sixth generation in 2015/2016. The seventh-generation Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse arrived in late 2024. The Nite Pony pack is the latest addition to the Mustang line-up in South Africa, offering customers a unique combination of performance and style.
The Mustang GT Nite Pony pack comes with a 6-year/90 000 km Ford Optional Service Plan, a four-year/120 000 km warranty, four-year/unlimited distance Roadside Assistance, and a five-year/unlimited distance corrosion warranty. Service intervals are 15 000 km or annually, whichever comes first. Buyers can also upgrade to Ford Protect Service or Maintenance Plans of up to eight years or 165 000 km.
The limited-edition Mustang GT Nite Pony pack is now available in South Africa, priced at R1 375 000 including VAT. With its unique combination of performance, style, and heritage, this new variant is expected to appeal to customers who want a distinctive Mustang experience. The pack’s black exterior detailing and 5.0-litre V8 engine make it a standout in the Mustang line-up.
