The 12th edition of ExpoBéton RDC is set to take place from October 7 to 10, 2026, in Kinshasa, under the theme "Kinshasa, locomotive of the transformation of cities in the DRC". The event will focus on the development of the capital city and the "Kia Mona" project, a government initiative aimed at creating a new modern city in the east of Kinshasa. The project is expected to address the challenges of urbanization and provide a better quality of life for the population.

According to Jean Bamanisa, president of the ExpoBéton committee, the event aims to continue the discussions started in previous years on the development of Congolese cities, economic corridors, and special economic zones. The rapid growth of the urban population requires careful planning of infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for public services and equipment. The discussions will focus on urban mobility projects, airports, trams, subways, and infrastructure to support the expansion of major urban centers.

The "Kia Mona" project is a key aspect of the 12th edition of ExpoBéton RDC. The project, led by Thierry Katembwe, aims to create a new city in the commune of Maluku, using a "Greenfield" approach that allows for better planning of infrastructure, housing, industrial areas, and public services. The project has been in development for two years and has already entered its operational phase, with the first actions including training for young people, the arrival of construction equipment, and land preparation.

The "Kia Mona" project is seen as an opportunity to rethink the urbanization of Kinshasa and avoid the structural problems faced by the city today. According to Thierry Katembwe, the project is a response to the government's decision to project itself into the future and develop a new city that can accommodate the growing population. The project includes the creation of an industrial city and a modern hospital complex, among other initiatives.

ExpoBéton RDC has been in existence for 10 years and has been promoting the respect of norms in the construction of infrastructure. The event has brought together decision-makers, investors, and urban planning experts to discuss the challenges of urbanization and promote structuring projects that can meet the demographic and economic challenges of the next decades.

The 12th edition of ExpoBéton RDC will feature conferences, panels, and exhibition stands, with free and open access to the public. A VIP pass will offer exclusive benefits and services to participants. The event aims to strengthen exchanges between public decision-makers, investors, and urban planning experts to support the modernization of Congolese cities and promote structuring projects.
