Dr. Kayode Afolabi, a former Commissioner for Health in Oyo state and Provost of Premier College of Health Technology, Ibadan, has encouraged Mogajis in Ibadanland to see their position as a call to service, stewardship, reconciliation, protection, and responsible leadership. He made this statement at the post-installation ceremony of his son, Chief Tolulope Akinkunmi Afolabi, as Mogaji Agunbiade dynasty in Ode Aje, Alaadorin, Oluyoro Oke-Offa area of Ibadan. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole, President General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, and Senator Hosea Agboola.

The Mogaji Agunbiade dynasty was installed on April 27, 2026, by the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja. The post-installation ceremony was held at Ibadan civic center, Idi Ape area, and was attended by various traditional leaders, academics, and community members. Dr. Afolabi expressed gratitude to all members of Agunbiade compound, both at home and in the diaspora, for unanimously nominating his son for the position. He emphasized that the title of Mogaji is not just a title to be displayed, but a call to serve the community.

Dr. Afolabi described the event as a celebration of family, heritage, unity, responsibility, and service. He noted that the title of Mogaji comes with significant responsibilities, including cultivating people, clearing pathways for the younger generation, and providing light, direction, and hope for those who look up to him. The former Commissioner also highlighted his son's previous initiatives, including the provision of solar-powered street lighting within the Agunbiade family compound and supporting 63 students on scholarship.

Chief Tolulope Akinkunmi Afolabi, the new Mogaji, has announced plans to promote human-capital development and empowerment within the family and community. He intends to establish an Agunbiade Education and Human Capital Development Scholarship Initiative and engage the younger generation through skills, enterprise, and meaningful opportunities. These initiatives align with Dr. Afolabi's values as a father, a reproductive health expert, and someone who believes in the development of people.

The event was attended by various notable individuals, including Chief Akin Olujinmi, SAN, former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Hosea Agboola, and Professor Kehinde Kester, Dean of Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan.
