On September 27, 2026, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, wife of former Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, and Yeye Moremi Oodua, inaugurated the YMO AI & Digital Training Hub in Ile-Ife, Osun State. The initiative aims to provide youth, students, and unemployed graduates with practical technology skills to prepare them for the evolving demands of the global digital economy. The hub offers training in artificial intelligence, digital technology, coding, and entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the inauguration, Amosun emphasized the need to shift young people from passive consumers to active innovators. With Nigeria's high volume of annual graduates outpacing available white-collar jobs, practical skills in fields like graphics, AI, and digital marketing are vital for creating employable, self-reliant individuals.
The hub will cater to secondary and tertiary school leavers, students, young people seeking technology-based careers, entrepreneurs, small-business owners, and interested community members. Its training approach combines 20% theory, 60% practical exercises, and 20% projects and assessments. Participants will apply acquired skills to real-world assignments, learning to use digital tools, apply AI, create professional digital content, and market products and services online.
Participants will be trained to build basic websites and digital projects, and successful participants will receive YMO AI & Digital Skills certificates for completed aspects of the training program. The hub will also provide mentorship, portfolio development, networking, internships, and partnership opportunities to support participants in their future endeavors.
