The Estate, Rent and Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) has officially inaugurated its Estate Abule-Osun Zone in Lagos. National President of ERCAAN, Godwin Alenkhe, emphasized that the inauguration of the new zone is a step towards promoting honesty and credibility in the real estate sector. He stated that the new zone comprises estate agents who are committed to upholding the values of professionalism and integrity. Alenkhe also highlighted that ERCAAN was established to develop the capacity of real estate practitioners through various training and professional development programs.
According to Alenkhe, members of the new zone will have access to ERCAAN's training, seminars, and leadership development programs. This move is aimed at ensuring that estate agents in the area are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their duties professionally. He also noted that ERCAAN has internal mechanisms in place to discipline members who engage in fraudulent or unprofessional practices.
Alenkhe called on the government to provide support, stating that not all estate agents belong to ERCAAN and therefore cannot be regulated by the association. He emphasized that the national body will monitor the new zone and provide support to address any challenges that may arise. The ERCAAN boss urged the new leadership to work towards restoring public confidence in estate agents through professionalism, honesty, and accountability.
Chairman of the Estate Abule-Osun Unit, Jonathan Atiko, expressed his delight at the official recognition of the unit as a zone under ERCAAN, Lagos chapter. He stated that the unit had met the required criteria before applying to become a zone, which has given members a stronger sense of belonging. Atiko emphasized that the new zone will create confidence among clients by ensuring that they deal with registered, trained, and professional estate practitioners.
Atiko noted that the new status will provide the zone with opportunities to carry out its activities legally under the association. He also stated that the zone is committed to building a great organization founded on professionalism, peace, and progress.
