The government of Equatorial Guinea has announced a series of changes in its diplomatic missions, as per recent decrees and orders issued by the President. On July 23, the President issued a decree relieving Mauricio Mauro Ekua Obama of his position as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Beijing, China. Similarly, Moisés Mba Nchama was relieved of his duties as Ambassador to Abidján, Côte d'Ivoire, under decree number 119/2026.

Further changes include the relief of Carmelo Nvono Nca from his position as Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, effective October 1, 2026, as per decree number 120/2026. Additionally, María Yolanda Ada Ngomo Mikue was relieved of her duties as Regional Delegate of the Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CICTE) in Bata, as per an order dated June 8, 2026. Emmanuel Medang Nzang Efa and Bernabé Nkua Ení were also relieved of their positions in the embassies of Harare, Zimbabwe, and Washington, D.C., USA, respectively.

In a parallel move, new appointments have been made to various diplomatic missions. Moisés Mba Nchama has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Conakry, Guinea, under decree number 121/2026, dated July 23, 2026. Carmelo Nvono Nca has been appointed Ambassador to Abidján, Côte d'Ivoire, under decree number 122/2026. Meanwhile, Mauricio Mauro Ekua Obama has been appointed Ambassador to Singapore under decree number 123/2026.

The diplomatic reshuffle also includes the appointment of Juan Ndong Nguema Mbengono as Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, effective October 1, 2026, under decree number 124/2026. Francisco Nfa Abeso Mangue has been appointed Regional Delegate of CICTE in Bata, as per an order dated June 8, 2026. Furthermore, Bernabé Ncogo Ení has been appointed Second Secretary in the embassy of Rabat, Morocco.

Additional appointments include Alberto Nguema Nsue Mbang as Third Secretary in the embassy of Rabat, Morocco, under an order dated July 24, 2026. These changes reflect a broader reorganization within Equatorial Guinea's diplomatic corps, potentially signaling a shift in the country's diplomatic priorities.
