On October 1, 2026, Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, inaugurated the reconstituted State Civil Service Commission, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Board, and the governing councils of four institutions. The ceremony took place at Government House in Enugu. The governor was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Chidiebere Onyia. The reconstitution aligns with Mbah's efforts to build strong institutions in the state.

The governor emphasized that his administration aims to grow the state's economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion. The newly inaugurated members of the State Civil Service Commission include Prof. Gabriel Ajah as Chairman, Ambrose Nwodo as Secretary, and Christian Mbah, Mrs. Stella Ekweremadu, Mrs. Theresa Onyefuzili Ifeanyichukwu, and Uzonna Emmanuel Ogarabe as members. Other appointees include Barr. Victor Chukwuani as Chairman of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Council and Chinedu Onu as Chairman of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Council.

The governor's representative, Prof. Onyia, highlighted the importance of collaboration and complementarity among the new appointees. He noted that operating in isolation could lead to corruption and duplication of efforts. The polytechnic's Council Chairman, Deaconess Ifeoma Nwobodo, noted that the institution has improved its ranking under the governor's leadership. The ESUT Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, and other institutional leaders commended the governor's investment in education.

Key appointments include Dr. Amaka Ngene as Chairman-designate of the TVET Board and Prof. Anthony Aniagboso Igwe as Rector of the Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo.
