The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has forecast that the country will experience continued cooler temperatures and rainfall over the next six days. According to Dr. Manar Ghoneim, a meteorologist at the authority, the weather will remain autumnal, with temperatures in most governorates around or below their natural levels for this time of year. The highest temperature in Cairo is expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Dr. Ghoneim stated that Egypt is still under the influence of a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, which is contributing to the appearance of low and medium-level clouds. These clouds are blocking some of the sun's rays, resulting in lower temperatures. The air masses are primarily coming from the north, originating from southwest Europe and passing over the Mediterranean Sea.
The meteorologist predicted that the temperature in Luxor and Aswan will range between 38 and 39 degrees Celsius, while in the coastal governorates along the Mediterranean Sea, it will range between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius. The weather will be autumnal and mild during the early morning hours in most governorates, but it will become hotter during the day, especially in the Cairo metropolitan area, the Nile Valley, and northern Upper Egypt.
The forecast also indicates a chance of rainfall on Thursday, with a 30% probability of light to moderate rain in various areas along the Mediterranean coast and northern parts of the country. In some limited areas, the rain may be heavy, with a 10% chance. There is also a slight chance of light rain in the internal areas of the southern Nile Valley and the Canal cities.
Dr. Ghoneim warned that the wind will be active, with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in some areas, which will help to moderate the temperature. She also predicted that the temperature will continue to drop over the next few days, with an average temperature of 29-30 degrees Celsius. By mid-week, the country can expect further decreases in temperature.
The meteorologist advised citizens to dress appropriately, especially during the early morning and evening hours, as there will be a slight chill in the air. She emphasized the importance of monitoring weather forecasts, as there is a continued chance of rain over the next few days, with a possible duration of five to six days in coastal areas.
Dr. Ghoneim stressed that daily monitoring of weather forecasts is crucial, especially during the autumn season, which is known for its sudden and rapid changes in weather. She urged citizens to be aware of the significant differences in temperature between day and night.
