Egyptian Transport Minister Engineer Kامل الوزير stated on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, that Egypt-Saudi relations represent an excellent model of brotherly and strategic relations between the two countries. These relations are based on historical ties, a shared destiny, and alignment in visions and positions. This statement was made during a visit to the Saudi Embassy in Cairo to congratulate Ambassador صالح بن عيد الحصيني on the occasion of Saudi Arabia's National Day.
During the meeting, the Minister conveyed congratulations from President عبدالفتاح السيسي and Prime Minister مصطفى مدبولي to King سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود and Crown Prince محمد بن سلمان, as well as the Saudi people, on this significant national occasion. The Minister wished Saudi Arabia continued progress, prosperity, and development.
The Minister highlighted the recent visit of Crown Prince محمد بن سلمان to Egypt and his meeting with President عبدالفتاح السيسي, which reflected the depth and strength of the brotherly and strategic relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He emphasized that these relations enjoy full support and care from the leadership of both countries, based on the principle that "Egypt and Saudi Arabia are always together."
The Minister added that the upcoming phase requires continuing to build on the achieved cooperation between the two countries and opening broader avenues for partnership in economic, investment, and trade fields. He stressed that the Egyptian-Saudi Higher Coordination Council represents an important institutional framework for coordinating efforts and pushing bilateral cooperation to levels that meet the aspirations of both countries.
The Minister noted significant cooperation between Egypt and Saudi Arabia in the field of transportation and logistics. He pointed out the importance of the Southern Arab Trade Corridor, which connects Europe and all Gulf countries through Egypt. This corridor can also be linked through international integrated logistics corridors to the port of سفاجا and then to the port of نيوم (formerly ضبا) in Saudi Arabia.
In line with transforming policies into tangible achievements, Egypt has started implementing eight comprehensive developmental logistics corridors. These corridors connect Red Sea and Mediterranean ports, the Suez Canal axis, and dry ports, industrial, agricultural, and mining areas via a modern and integrated network of railways, high-speed trains, and highways. This aims to provide effective transportation routes for goods, reduce handling time and costs, and enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.
Ambassador صالح بن عيد الحصيني expressed his appreciation for the Minister's kind congratulations, affirming that Egypt-Saudi relations represent a solid model of brotherhood, cooperation, and integration between the two countries.
