A 16-year-old student, Muhammad Hamada Muhammad Mahmoud Sharf, was involved in a hit-and-run accident on a road in Beheira governorate. The student, who is in the first year of secondary school, was walking with a friend when the incident occurred. His father, who is from the village of Sharnob in the Damanhour center, has called for the person responsible for the accident to be held accountable.
According to the student's father, the ambulance did not arrive quickly at the scene, with about half an hour to three-quarters of an hour passing before someone found Muhammad's cousin with his neck stuck in a tuk-tuk. The bystanders were watching the scene without attempting to rescue him. The father expressed his sadness and frustration at the driver fleeing the scene without providing assistance to his son.
The student's father accused the driver of abandoning his son without providing medical help, saying "If only they had taken him to the hospital and my son had died, I would be satisfied. But they left him and walked away. God is enough for me, and He is the best of all helpers." The father has been staying with his son at the Itai hospital for 30 days, expressing gratitude to the hospital administration, officials, and security personnel for their good treatment.
The student's mother stated that her son had left home at 8 pm and was hit by a car on the road, which threw him into a nearby area. He lay there for an hour and a half without receiving immediate medical attention. She emphasized her determination to obtain justice for her son and hold the person responsible for the accident accountable.
The student's mother added that her son has been in a coma for about a month, and they have been staying in front of the hospital, not returning home. She stressed that she wants justice for her son, saying "I am demanding my son's right; I do not want anything from the world except my son's right... He has been in a coma for about a month at Itai hospital; we sleep in front of the hospital and do not go home, and I want my son's right."
The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the need for drivers to take responsibility for their actions.
