Egyptian Youth and Sports Minister, Dr. Gohar Nabil, held a coordination meeting with Yasser Idris, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, and members of the committee's board of directors, at the Egyptian Olympic Committee's headquarters. The meeting aimed to discuss the latest preparations of national teams and training programs for players and athletes for upcoming international competitions, primarily the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympics and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Egyptian Olympic Committee, and sports federations. This aims to implement comprehensive preparation programs for national teams and provide the best technical and physical capabilities for players and athletes, in line with the size of upcoming competitions and the aspirations of Egyptian sports.
Dr. Gohar Nabil praised the results achieved by the Egyptian delegation during their participation in the Mediterranean Games in Italy. Egypt secured 58 various medals, reflecting the development of the player and national team preparation system and the efforts made by various elements of the sports system.
The Minister emphasized that the coming stage requires continued work according to clear and studied plans and full coordination between the Ministry, the Olympic Committee, and sports federations. This will contribute to achieving the best possible preparation for national teams before participating in upcoming international competitions.
Dr. Nabil pointed out that the Ministry continues to support national teams and provide the necessary capabilities for players and technical devices. The Ministry also follows up on the implementation of preparation programs, camps, and international confrontations. This enhances the technical and physical level of players and athletes and strengthens their ability to compete and achieve accomplishments.
Yasser Idris, President of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, welcomed the continued cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He stressed the importance of integrating efforts between the Ministry, the Olympic Committee, and sports federations during the coming period. The goal is to prepare a new generation of champions capable of competing in international and Olympic tournaments.
Idris clarified that the Egyptian Olympic Committee works in coordination with sports federations to prepare comprehensive plans for national teams. This ensures that players and athletes are optimally prepared to participate in the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympics and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
