Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli held a meeting with officials from the company Acqua at the government's headquarters in the new capital to discuss the latest developments in cooperation on seawater desalination projects. The meeting was attended by Dr. Samir Serhan, Executive Director of Acqua, Hashem Ghobash, Regional President for the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia, and other high-ranking officials.

During the meeting, Madbouli expressed his welcome to the Acqua officials, emphasizing the ongoing cooperation with the company in implementing seawater desalination projects, given its extensive experience in this vital sector. He also highlighted that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has shown great interest in the desalination file, with the state currently expanding these projects and working to localize various industries related to seawater desalination.

The Prime Minister stated that the current goal is to reach the best offers from the companies that have applied to start implementing these projects, aiming to produce 10 million cubic meters of desalinated water per day. He also mentioned that the state is working to expand the implementation of desalination projects through modern stations built according to the latest global technologies, in cooperation with major specialized companies.

The Executive Director of Acqua, Dr. Samir Serhan, welcomed the deep cooperation with Egypt, noting that the company has extensive investments in Egypt in renewable energy projects. He reviewed a number of these projects and pointed to the current cooperation between Acqua and Egypt to implement a number of seawater desalination projects to enhance Egypt's production capacity in this field.

The meeting emphasized the importance of desalination projects, which come as part of the state's efforts to promote sustainable urban development, expand the creation of new cities, and develop coastal areas. These projects are considered one of the sustainable solutions to provide the necessary water resources for development goals.
