The Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities has released a video report highlighting its key activities and events from September 18 to 24, 2026. According to the report, Minister of Housing, Engineer Randa El-Menashy, conducted an extensive inspection tour in the Central Business District of the New Capital City on September 24, 2026. She emphasized that this area is one of the country's major national projects, reflecting Egypt's urban development.
During her tour, El-Menashy stated that her ministry continues to monitor various components of the project to ensure its operation at the highest level of efficiency. This, she said, will help attract investments and enhance the status of the New Capital as a comprehensive business and service hub. On the same day, the Real Estate and Commercial Affairs Sector of the New Urban Communities Authority held two public auctions in the cities of Aswan and Hadayek Al-Capital.
The auctions aimed to allocate commercial units, pharmacies, administrative and professional units in various areas of the two cities. El-Menashy also followed up on the efforts of new city authorities to implement and monitor development, beautification, and cleanliness projects, as well as housing and infrastructure projects. Additionally, she oversaw the intensification of field campaigns to remove obstructions and confront violations and encroachments.
On September 23, 2026, El-Menashy met with Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Joher Nebil, to discuss cooperation between the two ministries. The meeting focused on supporting and developing youth centers in new cities and enhancing services and activities provided to young people in new urban communities. They also discussed cooperation in the field of youth and sports facilities affiliated with the two ministries.
El-Menashy then met with Major General Hani Al-Iskandaran, head of the Central Organization for Mobilization, to follow up on the implementation of several projects, including service buildings and constructions within the presidential initiative "Hayat Karima" to develop the Egyptian countryside. She stressed the need for regular monitoring and field follow-up of various projects, accelerating implementation rates, and enhancing coordination between all concerned parties.
El-Menashy also reviewed the executive position of ongoing projects and work files in several new cities in Upper Egypt. This is part of the ministry's efforts to improve services provided to citizens, enhance the quality of life, and boost development rates in new cities. The review included housing projects within the presidential initiative "Sakan Lel Masriyen" and the "Dyarna" housing project.
Furthermore, the New Capital City Authority organized a visit for a delegation from Nanjing University in China, specializing in urban and regional planning. The visit aimed to familiarize the delegation with Egypt's modern urban experience and the comprehensive development and urban projects in the New Capital. On September 22, 2026, El-Menashy conducted a surprise inspection tour in the city of Badr to monitor the implementation of development and efficiency improvement projects.
