Egyptian Minister of Housing, Randa El-Menashy, has been monitoring the progress of several projects in New Suez City, a fourth-generation city near the Adabiya and Ain Sokhna ports. The city is being developed with a focus on integrated urban planning. El-Menashy received a report on the various projects underway in the city, including the 300-acre first-phase emergency plan.
The report highlighted the progress made on housing, service, and utility projects, as well as road development and infrastructure upgrades. El-Menashy instructed officials to continue implementing projects according to schedule while maintaining quality and coordinating with city authorities and contractors. The minister also reviewed the results of a recent inspection by Ammar Mandour, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority.
The inspection covered several projects, including the social housing project, which comprises 86 buildings with 2064 units, each with an area of 90 square meters. The project is nearing completion, with final touches being applied and preparations underway for unit handover. The delegation also inspected the "Dyarna" project, which features five buildings with 130 units, each with an area of up to 120 square meters.
The inspection team visited a 33-classroom school, which is almost complete, with the building finished and wall construction ongoing. They also inspected a model nursery, reviewing final preparations and readiness for operation. A commercial market with seven shops and a pharmacy was also visited, having been sold in a public auction. The team reviewed the workflow and service delivery at the city's technological center.
El-Menashy's report included updates on major infrastructure projects, such as a strategic connection bridge, which involves deep foundation and regular and reinforced base construction. The bridge will link New Suez City to the Suez-Sokhna road. Additionally, a main water pumping station, with an advanced implementation rate, was reviewed, along with a 10,000-cubic-meter main earth tank.
The report also covered a natural gas pressure-reduction station and main and subsidiary gas networks, which are 95% complete. The station will support the city's gas system. Furthermore, the minister reviewed the construction of a main transformer station with a capacity of 240 megavolt-amperes, which will serve the city's first phase.
The project includes a 220/22/22 kV station, with the possibility of future expansion. The station will provide electricity to the city's first phase, developed on 2200 acres. The report also mentioned ongoing road and green space development, including the planting of trees and flowers, enhancing the city's aesthetic appeal.
