Egyptian Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kujuk, expressed gratitude to citizens for their high response rate to the real estate tax mobile application, with 2.5 million units registered and 1.8 million accounts created so far. The Minister emphasized the government's efforts to simplify and facilitate the service through the electronic application and upgrade the system's capacity to handle the strong interaction from citizens.

Minister Kujuk encouraged all citizens to register through the mobile application and take advantage of the new real estate tax incentives. He stated that citizens can submit their tax declarations through the mobile application until the end of December 2026 and receive a 25% discount on the annual tax for residential units and 10% for non-residential units.

In addition to the discounts, citizens who pay under the account from 200 to 1,000 pounds, depending on the type of unit, will receive an additional 5% discount on the annual tax. The Minister also mentioned that citizens whose family residence is valued at less than 8 million pounds can submit their declarations and request an exemption electronically through the mobile application.

Minister Kujuk also announced that citizens can settle their tax disputes until April 2, 2027, by paying 70% of the total tax and being exempt from the delay penalty. He emphasized the government's commitment to being flexible in dealing with citizens' requests and starting a new page.

Rami Youssef, Assistant Minister for Tax Policies, stated that the government is working on developing the mobile application to ensure continuous improvement in service level and meeting the requests of citizens. He added that the government is currently increasing the number and capacity of technical support teams to help citizens and facilitate their access to new incentives.

Youssef also mentioned that the government is continuing to communicate with representatives of the business community and respond to their inquiries about real estate tax incentives. He emphasized that communication and dialogue help clarify the picture and assist in development and service improvement.

The government's efforts aim to increase citizen participation and simplify the tax declaration process through the mobile application. The Minister and his assistant emphasized their commitment to continuous improvement and responding to citizens' needs.
