Egyptian Minister of Education, Muhammad Abd al-Latif, and Cairo Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Saber, officially opened the Al-Shabrawishi school complex in the Dar Salam district of Cairo on October 1, 2026. This development is part of the state's efforts to expand and improve educational facilities, increasing their capacity to accommodate more students and address overcrowding in certain areas.
The school complex consists of three schools and has a capacity for approximately 4,000 students. It will host students from Ahmed Orabi, Omar ibn Al-Khattab, and Dar Salam primary schools, optimizing the use of educational infrastructure in the area. The complex was developed with 74 new classrooms, eight kindergarten classrooms, three libraries, and four laboratories.
During their visit, Abd al-Latif and Saber reviewed the expansion plan, ensuring that no students were attending classes during the second period. They also inspected various facilities, including classrooms, administrative rooms, laboratories, libraries, and areas for extracurricular activities, confirming that the educational process was proceeding smoothly.
The minister and governor emphasized their commitment to improving the quality of education and enhancing services provided to students across different academic levels. Abd al-Latif highlighted the ministry's focus on expanding educational infrastructure, particularly in densely populated areas, to provide a suitable learning environment for students.
Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Cairo Governor, reiterated the governorate's support for all efforts aimed at developing the education system, expanding and improving schools, and enhancing educational facilities. This, he noted, would contribute to better educational services for students.
As part of their visit, Abd al-Latif met with several parents outside the school complex to listen to their views on the educational process and the services their children were receiving. This interaction underscored the government's commitment to engaging with the community and ensuring that educational institutions meet the needs of students and their families.
The inauguration of the Al-Shabrawishi school complex is a significant step towards achieving Egypt's educational goals, focusing on infrastructure development and improving the quality of education. The project demonstrates collaboration between the Ministry of Education and local governance to address educational challenges and provide better opportunities for students.
