Egyptian Housing Minister Randa El-Menashy has been monitoring the implementation of several sewage projects in four governorates as part of the presidential "Hayat Karima" initiative to develop rural areas. The projects are being carried out in the governorates of Minya, Beni Suef, Damietta, and Sohag by the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation. El-Menashy reviewed the project's progress through periodic reports and site visits.
In Beni Suef governorate, El-Menashy and the chairman of the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Amin Shouqi, discussed the progress of several sewage projects. These include the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Dendil with a capacity of 40/80 thousand cubic meters per day and a wastewater pumping station in Ashment village. Other projects include sewage networks in Ashment village stretching 23 kilometers and a wastewater treatment plant in Tansa Beni Malou with a capacity of 40/20 thousand cubic meters per day.
El-Menashy also reviewed the implementation of sewage projects in Damietta governorate. These projects include a wastewater treatment plant in Kafour El-Gab with a capacity of 5/10 thousand cubic meters per day and a wastewater treatment plant in Um El-Rizq with a capacity of 5 thousand cubic meters per day. Another project is the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Kfar Suleiman El-Bahri with a capacity of 10/5 thousand cubic meters per day.
In Sohag governorate, El-Menashy was briefed on the progress of sewage projects, including a sewage project in the village of Awlad Ismail in the Markaz El-Maragha. The project includes a pumping station and a discharge line. Another project is the sewage project in the village of El-Galaweya in the Markaz Sakklt, which includes a main pumping station, a main discharge line, and sewage networks.
In Minya governorate, El-Menashy's monitoring included a wastewater pumping station in Sheikh Masoud village in the Markaz El-Adweya and a wastewater pumping station in El-Beslqon village. Other projects include a wastewater pumping station in Atf Haidar village and a wastewater pumping station in El-Masyd village in the Markaz El-Adweya. El-Menashy also reviewed the expansion of a wastewater treatment plant in Abu Qarqas with a capacity of 20 thousand cubic meters per day.
The monitoring tours were attended by several officials, including the head of the Central Administration for Implementing Eastern Marine Projects, Essam Abdel Hamid, and the head of the Central Administration for Implementing Southern Egypt Projects, Youssef Helmy. The officials emphasized the importance of adhering to technical standards and expediting the implementation of projects to improve services for citizens.
