Egyptian Housing Minister Randa El-Menashy has been monitoring the implementation of several sewerage projects in four governorates: Asyut, Minya, Damietta, and Aswan. These projects are part of the presidential initiative to develop Egypt's rural areas, known as "Hayat Karima" or "Decent Life." The projects aim to improve sanitation services for residents in these areas. El-Menashy reviewed the progress of these projects to ensure they are completed on time and meet the required standards.

In Asyut governorate, El-Menashy inspected several projects, including a wastewater treatment plant in Awagah with a capacity of 40/80 thousand cubic meters per day. The plant will serve 15 villages in the Dayrut center. She also reviewed the progress of a wastewater treatment plant in Beni Ghaleb with a capacity of 36/54 thousand cubic meters per day. This plant will serve 17 villages in Asyut and El-Fateh centers. Additionally, El-Menashy inspected a wastewater pumping station in Awagah and a wastewater treatment plant in El-Kallabat with a capacity of 40/20 thousand cubic meters per day.

In Minya governorate, El-Menashy monitored the implementation of several sewerage projects under the "Hayat Karima" initiative. These projects include a wastewater treatment plant in Delga with a capacity of 15 thousand cubic meters per day and a wastewater pumping station in Delga. She also reviewed the progress of a wastewater treatment plant in Sheikh Shibeeka with a capacity of 70/40 thousand cubic meters per day and a wastewater treatment plant in Tanouf with a capacity of 20/40 thousand cubic meters per day.

El-Menashy also inspected the progress of sewerage projects in Damietta governorate. These projects include a wastewater treatment plant in Kafour El-Gab with a capacity of 5/10 thousand cubic meters per day and a wastewater treatment plant in Um El-Razak with a capacity of 5/10 thousand cubic meters per day. Additionally, she reviewed the progress of a wastewater pumping station in Ras El-Bar and a wastewater treatment plant in Kafr Suleiman El-Bahri with a capacity of 10/5 thousand cubic meters per day.

In Aswan governorate, El-Menashy reviewed the procedures for inspecting proposed sites for expansions to existing wastewater treatment plants. These expansions aim to increase the capacity of the plants to handle excess wastewater. The minister emphasized the importance of adhering to technical standards and timelines for project completion. She also stressed the need to address any obstacles that may hinder project progress.

El-Menashy was accompanied by several high-ranking officials from the National Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment, as well as governors and officials from the respective governorates. The projects are being implemented by the National Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater Treatment, with the aim of improving sanitation services for residents in the targeted areas.

The minister emphasized the importance of completing the projects on time and to the required standards. She also stressed the need for close monitoring of project progress, particularly for projects with high completion rates. The completion of these projects will contribute to the improvement of sanitation services for residents in the targeted governorates and support the goals of the "Hayat Karima" initiative.
