Egyptian Housing Minister Randa Al-Manshawi has been monitoring the progress of several sewage projects in four governorates as part of the presidential initiative "Hayat Karima" (Decent Life) to develop rural areas. The projects are being implemented by the National Water and Sanitation Authority in the governorates of Minya, Beni Suef, Damietta, and Sohag. The minister has been receiving periodic reports and results of inspection tours of the projects.
In Beni Suef governorate, Al-Manshawi reviewed the implementation of several sewage projects, including the Dendil treatment plant with a capacity of 40/80 thousand cubic meters per day, and the Ashment sewage pumping station. Other projects include Ashment village sewage networks with a length of 23 km, and the Tansa Beni Malou treatment plant with a capacity of 40/20 thousand cubic meters per day.
The minister also reviewed the progress of sewage projects in Damietta governorate, including the Kafour Al-Ghab sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 5/10 thousand cubic meters per day. Other projects in Damietta include the Am Al-Razak sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 5 thousand cubic meters per day, and the Kfar Suleiman Al-Bahri treatment plant with a capacity of 10/5 thousand cubic meters per day.
In Sohag governorate, Al-Manshawi reviewed the implementation of sewage projects, including the Awlad Ismail sewage project in the Maghagha center, which includes a pumping station and a discharge line. Another project in Sohag is the Jalawiya sewage project in the Saqulta center, which includes a main pumping station, a main discharge line, and slope networks.
In Minya governorate, the minister reviewed several sewage projects, including the Sheikh Masoud sewage pumping station in the Adwa center, and the Bislakon sewage pumping station. Other projects in Minya include the Atf Haidar sewage pumping station, and the Masid sewage pumping station in the Adwa center.
The minister emphasized the importance of adhering to technical standards and quickly resolving obstacles to boost the implementation rates of the projects and improve the level of services provided to citizens. The projects aim to support sustainable development plans in the governorates.
The monitoring tours were attended by several officials, including the head of the National Water and Sanitation Authority, and other engineers and officials from the executive bodies, projects, and implementing companies in the governorates.
