Egyptian Housing Minister Randa El-Menashy recently visited New Fayoum City to monitor the progress of various projects. The visit aimed to ensure the timely completion of these projects, which include housing units under the presidential initiative "Housing for All Egyptians," as well as road and communication network developments. El-Menashy emphasized the government's commitment to improving living standards in new cities.
During her visit, El-Menashy inspected the construction site of 576 housing units under the "Housing for All Egyptians" initiative in the north of the first neighborhood of New Fayoum City. The project consists of 24 buildings distributed across three work sites. The minister was briefed on the project's progress, which involves completing the concrete structures of the buildings while simultaneously working on the project's timeline.
Ali Saad, head of the New Fayoum City development agency, reported that construction on some buildings has been completed, and work is ongoing on interior and exterior finishes. The goal is to make the units available to citizens and hand them over according to the approved delivery plan. The agency is maintaining a regular pace of work, ensuring quality and adherence to technical specifications.
El-Menashy also reviewed the status of infrastructure and services, including the implementation and handover of landline communication networks in social housing areas of the city. All communication cabins have been completed and the entire project has been handed over, enabling citizens to apply for landline and internet services.
According to Ali Saad, all faults that were identified have been fixed, and four out of eight cabins in the second neighborhood have been handed over. The remaining cabins are expected to be delivered by the end of October. Meanwhile, all cabins in the first neighborhood have already been handed over, facilitating the rapid provision of services to citizens.
The minister also monitored the start of the second phase of a new road connecting New Fayoum City to the old city. The work involves clearing, repairing, and preparing the road path, paving the way for further implementation stages according to the set program. This new road is part of efforts to develop and improve the road network and basic infrastructure in New Fayoum City.
The New Fayoum City development agency continues to carry out cleaning and waste removal operations, as well as beautification projects in various areas and neighborhoods. This includes ongoing campaigns to collect waste, maintain green spaces, and improve the visual appeal of the city. Additionally, work has begun on landscaping and upgrading green areas in the second neighborhood.
