A horrific crime scene was discovered at a law office in Alexandria, Egypt, where the body of a 30-year-old woman, "غ.ف.إ", was found brutally murdered. The woman's body was cut into pieces, with her head placed in the toilet and her hands on the toilet seat cover. A medium-sized knife and a power saw were found next to the body. The police were alerted to the crime scene after a lawyer, "م.أف", reported hearing strange noises coming from the office.
The suspect, identified as "ك.م.أ", a 34-year-old man from Abu Homs in the El Beira governorate, was arrested and confessed to the crime. According to his confession, he had been planning the murder for 10 days after discovering that his ex-wife was having an affair with her lawyer. He arrived at the law office with a power saw and obtained a knife from inside the office. He hid in one of the rooms until his ex-wife and her lawyer arrived.
The suspect stated that he attacked his ex-wife, stabbing her in the neck with a knife, which led to her death. He then used the knife to cut her body into pieces. The motive behind the crime was reportedly the suspect's anger towards his ex-wife for having an affair. The victim's family reported that she had been working as a daily worker in orange factories during the season and was searching for another job in frozen food factories.
The victim's family also revealed that she had married the suspect at a young age, and they had two daughters together. The suspect is the nephew of the victim's family and was raised by them after his father's death. The family reported that the victim and the suspect had been having marital problems due to her illness with cancer and the expenses of her treatment.
The lawyer who owned the office, "م.أف", reported that he had been trying to mediate between the victim and the suspect, but their differences continued, leading to their divorce in 2024. He stated that he had scheduled a meeting with the suspect and the victim to try to reconcile them, but the suspect arrived first and committed the crime.
The investigation, led by the Alexandria police, found that the suspect had been stalking his ex-wife and had discovered her affair with her lawyer. The case, numbered 9622/208 of 2026, is being handled by the Alexandria Public Prosecution. The suspect has been detained pending further investigation.
The Public Prosecution has ordered the burial of the victim's body after conducting an autopsy under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Gabr, Deputy Director of Forensic Medicine in Alexandria. The crime scene has been secured, and the investigation is ongoing.
