On October 3, 2026, Dr. Muhammad Al-Gendy, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Complex, visited North Sinai as part of a trip to open the 23rd Da'wa Week at the University of Arish. He was accompanied by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hawari, Assistant Secretary-General for Da'wa and Religious Media, and Dr. Hassan Yahya, Assistant Secretary-General of the Higher Committee for Da'wa Affairs. The purpose of the visit was to follow up on the efforts of the preaching region in performing its mission and to review reports and plans for future work.

Dr. Al-Gendy emphasized that the nature of the Sinai community, with its unique social and cultural characteristics, requires preachers to be closer to the people and their needs. He stressed the importance of understanding the local environment to provide sound religious discourse, promote a sense of belonging and responsibility, and maintain social cohesion. This, he believes, is crucial in protecting society from misconceptions and rumors.

The Secretary-General highlighted that safeguarding the minds of young people against destructive ideas is just as important as any other effort to protect society. He emphasized that preachers must contribute to building intellectual immunity through direct communication with the public, addressing their questions, and correcting misconceptions. Dr. Al-Gendy assured that the Islamic Research Complex supports preachers in their mission and stands by them in facing the challenges of their work.

Dr. Al-Hawari noted that the issues faced by preachers in North Sinai require special awareness of the community's nature and needs. He stressed that a preacher's success depends not only on their knowledge of Islamic law but also on their ability to understand the community and choose the right approach to address its concerns. Building trust with the people is essential to making their message more effective.

Dr. Hassan Yahya pointed out that da'wa work should be based on direct communication through preaching activities, which ensures that programs achieve their goals of building awareness, correcting concepts, and promoting values. He emphasized the importance of engaging with young people on intellectual and social issues that concern them.

The visit is part of a broader program that includes the opening of the 23rd Da'wa Week at the University of Arish, themed "October Victories between the Pillars of Faith and the Determination of Men." The events, which will run for a week, will address topics such as the elements of victory, Egypt's role in protecting Arabs and Islam, and the importance of planning in achieving success.

The Islamic Research Complex launched a campaign, "On the Path of the Heroes," to coincide with the 53rd anniversary of the October victory. The campaign aims to promote awareness and understanding of the values and principles that contributed to Egypt's success.
