The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Education, led by Dr. Alaa Ashmawi, is reaching out to Egypt's executive and legislative bodies to support the education system by increasing available resources. This effort aims to enhance the quality of education in Egypt. The authority is focusing on improving various aspects of the education sector.

Dr. Ashmawi emphasized the importance of involving civil society and the industry sector in the educational process, similar to practices in many European, American, Canadian, and Australian universities. These institutions rely heavily on donations from civil society and alumni. However, Ashmawi clarified that this involvement would not entail direct interference in the management of educational institutions.

The participation of civil society and the industry sector is expected to contribute to defining the specifications of graduates and reviewing curricula and academic courses. This collaboration aims to ensure that graduates possess the necessary skills and are qualified to join the job market from their first day of graduation. The authority seeks to create a more effective and relevant education system.

The National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Education is also responsible for managing the National Qualifications Framework. This framework is a system for classifying and registering educational qualifications within a national database available online. It includes eight levels that allow for the classification and comparison of qualifications based on specific criteria.

The National Qualifications Framework helps determine the level of knowledge and skills required for each qualification by classifying certificates into specific levels. For instance, a bachelor's degree is classified under the fifth level, defining the required knowledge and skills for graduates at this level. This system facilitates the comparison and recognition of qualifications.

Registering qualifications in the database enables local and international communities to access and compare them, promoting the recognition of certificates and enhancing opportunities for graduates in international job markets. This development is expected to support Egypt's education sector and its integration with global standards.

The authority's efforts reflect a broader strategy to improve Egypt's education system, ensuring it meets the needs of the job market and international standards. By engaging with various stakeholders and implementing frameworks like the National Qualifications Framework, the authority aims to enhance the quality and relevance of education in Egypt.
