The Giza Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Ahmed Al-Zarqa, decided to refer the papers of the main defendant in the Badrashin murder case to the Grand Mufti for a legal opinion on his execution. The court set a hearing for December 5 to deliver its verdict on the remaining defendants. The case involves three defendants, including the primary defendant, who was accused of murdering a young man in the Badrashin area.

According to the investigation, the defendants had planned to kill the victim due to a romantic relationship between the second defendant and the victim. The primary defendant had been in love with the second defendant since childhood but learned that the victim had proposed to her. This led the defendants to plot against the victim. The investigation revealed that the defendants had divided tasks among themselves, with the primary defendant preparing a firearm and ammunition.

The second defendant provided information about the victim's schedule, including his departure from her residence. The third defendant accompanied the primary defendant on a motorcycle to follow the victim. As the victim exited the second defendant's residence, she informed the primary defendant, who then followed the victim with the third defendant. The primary defendant fired several shots at the victim, resulting in fatal injuries.

The investigation found that the primary defendant had acted with premeditation and intent to kill. The third defendant was aware of the plan and had accompanied the primary defendant during the crime. The primary defendant was also found to be in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The second and third defendants were accused of possessing the firearm and ammunition with knowledge of its intended use.

The prosecution's evidence included testimony from the victim's father, who stated that his son had been in a romantic relationship with the second defendant and had proposed to her. The father also claimed that the defendants had planned to kill his son. A witness testified that he had heard gunshots and seen the victim lying on the ground next to his motorcycle.

Forensic reports confirmed that the victim's injuries were caused by gunshots fired from a close range. The reports also found that the firearm used in the crime was a licensed Italian-made pistol with a silencer. The investigation revealed that the primary defendant had confessed to the crime, stating that he had fired the shots that killed the victim.

The case has been ongoing since 2026, with the court taking into consideration the evidence presented by the prosecution. The referral of the primary defendant's papers to the Grand Mufti is a significant step in the trial, as it will provide a legal opinion on the defendant's execution. The court will deliver its verdict on the remaining defendants in December.
