Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on his first visit to Egypt, congratulating him on Senegal's assumption of the chairmanship of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The two leaders exchanged views on several regional files, stressing the need for comprehensive and peaceful solutions that address the root causes of crises, preserve state unity and sovereignty, and maintain territorial integrity. They also discussed the issue of water, with President El-Sisi affirming Egypt's keenness to strengthen historical and fraternal relations between the two countries and peoples.
President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's readiness to support the implementation of Senegal's Five-Year Plan and Vision 2050 by sharing Egyptian expertise and expanding cooperation in vital sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, irrigation networks, land reclamation, and energy.
