EgyptAir has been recognized as the "World's Most Improved Airline" at the prestigious World Airline Awards 2026. The airline secured this honor at a gala event organized by Skytrax in London on September 18. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Egypt's civil aviation sector, earning praise from the highest levels of the state. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi extended his warmest congratulations to the entire Egyptian civil aviation sector and EgyptAir for this historic accomplishment.
EgyptAir's improvement is highlighted by its remarkable leap of 23 places in the global rankings, rising to the 46th position in 2026 from 69th in 2025. This progress is attributed to the airline's efforts in modernizing its fleet and cabins, enhancing services, developing digital tools, and training personnel. The World Airline Awards, created in 1999, are based on a comprehensive survey of passenger satisfaction involving travelers from over 100 nationalities and covering more than 300 airlines.
The awards recognize excellence in various categories, including comfort, onboard service, meal quality, and airport experience. EgyptAir also distinguished itself in Africa by winning the titles of "Best Cabin Crew in Africa" (20th globally) and "Best Economy Class in Africa." The airline secured the second position on the continent, behind Ethiopian Airlines, which ranks 36th globally.
Captain Ahmed Adel, CEO of EgyptAir Holding, expressed his pride and gratitude for the recognition. He emphasized that the achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of EgyptAir's personnel across different sectors and subsidiaries. Adel credited the success to the development and modernization plans driven by the Egyptian state's vision and the directives of Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny.

In the global rankings, Singapore Airlines was awarded the best airline in 2026, surpassing Qatar Airways, which had won the top spot for the previous nine years. The World Airline Awards 2026 were based on an international survey conducted from September 2025 to August 2026.
EgyptAir is set to expand its services with new flights to Birmingham starting October 25 and Stockholm in December 2026. The airline also plans to launch direct routes to Singapore and Sydney in 2027, further strengthening its presence in the global market.
