The Egyptian Ministry of Education has directed educational directorates to review the data of part-time teachers and adjust their weekly and monthly teaching loads. This move is part of efforts to regulate the employment of part-time teachers and address the shortage of teachers in schools. The Ministry has set a maximum of 96 teaching hours per month for part-time teachers.

According to the Ministry, each teaching hour is valued at 50 EGP, with the total monthly allowance not exceeding 4800 EGP, including legal deductions. These new contracts will be in effect from September 1 to June 30, aligning with the academic year. The contracts aim to organize the employment of part-time teachers and regulate their financial and administrative entitlements.

The new contracts will provide part-time teachers with a regulated income and protection in case of work-related injuries, according to specific controls. The Ministry emphasizes that signing these seasonal contracts does not grant part-time teachers the right to demand permanent employment or tenure. The contracts are intended to meet the actual needs of schools, following established rules.

The Ministry has identified several cases that may lead to contract termination, including unexcused absences of five consecutive days or ten separate days. Additionally, if a teacher is deemed unfit for work due to health reasons, as documented in official medical reports, their contract may be terminated.

To continue their contracts, teachers must not be found to be using narcotics and must submit to random drug tests. They are also prohibited from publishing confidential information about their work or school on social media without written permission. These regulations are part of the Ministry's efforts to organize the employment of part-time teachers.

The Ministry's actions aim to achieve greater financial and administrative discipline in the education sector. By reviewing the actual data of part-time teachers and adjusting their teaching loads, the Ministry seeks to ensure that contracts align with the actual educational needs of schools and regulate the financial entitlements of part-time teachers.

The new contract rules for part-time teachers are part of Egypt's efforts to improve its education system. With a focus on regulating employment and ensuring fair compensation, the Ministry of Education aims to provide a more stable and secure environment for part-time teachers.
