The meeting, chaired by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Essam, reviewed requests from ministries, agencies, and companies regarding electricity, natural gas, and water supply for different industries. The council examined 11 industrial projects that require power supply and increasing electricity capacity for other projects to match their production lines and new additions.

The projects include new food factories in the Sadat City, tire production in the Suez region, steel industry in the 10th of Ramadan City, iron rolling in Borg El Arab, iron products in Sadat City, and ceramic and sanitary ware production in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Additional production lines in existing factories were also discussed.

Minister Mahmoud Essam stated that electricity is available for all uses across different voltage levels, emphasizing the commitment to applying energy efficiency standards and renewable energy targets for new factories. He noted that the Supreme Energy Council's meeting aligns with the national energy strategy and sustainable development plans.

The national energy strategy aims to increase reliance on renewable energy, targeting 45% of the energy mix by 2028. The council's efforts focus on maximizing returns from generated energy and exploring economic and investment opportunities for electricity and natural gas.
