The General Organization for Cultural Palaces, led by artist Atwa, is executing its cultural and artistic agenda in North Sinai through its branch, headed by Ashraf Al-Masharhani, under the supervision of the Canal and Sinai Cultural Region, led by Ahmed Yosri. This effort aims to spread awareness, develop talents, and support the participation of children and youth in various creative fields.
A lecture titled "Combating Terrorism and Intellectual Extremism from a Strategic Perspective" was held at the Karama Library, delivered by Eid Salam, head of the local unit of Karama village. The lecture discussed the concept of intellectual extremism, factors contributing to its spread, and the importance of raising awareness among young people to counter extremist ideas.
The lecture emphasized the role of families, educational institutions, and cultural entities in building a balanced personality capable of critical thinking and distinguishing between constructive and destructive ideas. It highlighted that combating extremism extends beyond security measures to include awareness, education, and culture, promoting values of dialogue, acceptance of others, and community belonging.
The event was supervised by Hijras Salem, activity coordinator. Meanwhile, at the Najah Library, an art workshop was conducted on drawing using an academic approach, led by Sayed Masoud, activity coordinator. The workshop provided a simplified explanation of the basics of drawing with a pencil, covering lines, proportions, shading techniques, and distributing light and shadow to highlight details and add depth to artwork.
The workshop included practical applications, allowing participants to train on basic drawing skills, develop their observation and focus abilities, and express themselves visually. It encouraged them to improve their artistic skills through continuous practice. These activities are part of the cultural and artistic movement in North Sinai's cultural centers, aiming to spread knowledge and awareness, nurture talents, and discover children's and youth's abilities.
