As Egypt prepares to switch to its winter schedule on October 30, 2026, the country's transportation system is set to undergo changes. The new timings for Cairo's metro lines and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system have been announced, aiming to assist passengers in planning their daily commutes. The changes will take effect after the conclusion of the summer schedule on October 29.

The first trains of the three metro lines and the LRT will depart from their terminal stations at specific times. For metro lines 1 and 2, the first trains from Heliopolis, Helwan, Shubra, and El Meneeb will leave at 5:15 AM. For metro line 3, the first train from Adly Mansour to Cairo University or in the opposite direction will depart at 5:15 AM, while the first train from Adly Mansour to Rod al-Farj will leave at 5:20 AM.

The last trains of the metro lines will also operate on new schedules. The last trains from Heliopolis and Helwan will depart at 11:40 PM, while those from Shubra and El Meneeb will leave at 11:55 PM and 12:05 AM, respectively. Additionally, the last trains from Adly Mansour to Cairo University and Rod al-Farj will depart at 11:33 PM and 11:29 PM, respectively.

The transfer points between metro lines have also been scheduled. The last trains of lines 1 and 2 will meet at Sadat Station at 12:25 AM. The transfer between lines 1 and 3 at Nasser Station and between lines 2 and 3 at Attaba Station will conclude at 12:00 AM. Furthermore, the transfer between lines 2 and 3 at Cairo University will end at 11:45 PM.

The LRT system, connecting Adly Mansour to several new cities and areas, will also have new timings. The first trains from Adly Mansour to the Arts and Culture Station will depart at 6:00 AM and 6:04 AM in the opposite direction. Other initial departures include trains from Adly Mansour to Badr, with direct trains available at 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.

The last LRT trains will operate until 10:00 PM. The final trains from Adly Mansour to the Arts and Culture Station or in the opposite direction will depart at 10:15 PM. Trains from Adly Mansour to Badr and from Badr to Adly Mansour will leave at 10:45 PM and 10:36 PM, respectively.

As Egypt adopts the winter schedule, residents are advised to adjust their daily routines accordingly. Passengers are encouraged to review the new timings, check the schedules before heading to stations, and plan their journeys in advance to avoid missing their trains.
