The National Body for Advertising Regulation on Public Roads, under Egypt's Council of Ministers, is driving the national digital transformation in managing and regulating public road advertisements. This involves creating a comprehensive geographic database of advertisements across the country and linking field monitoring and inspection with spatial, technical, and regulatory data for each ad. According to Eiman Nabil, the body's CEO, this initiative aims to transition from mere advertisement enumeration to data-driven advertisement management.

The body is studying and monitoring digital experiments in various governorates, focusing on Alexandria and Aswan as prime examples. These governorates are leveraging technology and geographic information systems to manage advertisements effectively. In Alexandria, a comprehensive digital platform is being developed to manage advertisements, offering several electronic services, including license applications, scheduling, and technical design reviews. This platform also links advertisement data with its geographic location on a map.

Aswan governorate is creating an electronic system based on geographic information systems to link advertisements with their actual geographic locations. This system will make advertisement data available through a spatial database and an electronic dashboard, providing an updated spatial view of the advertisement landscape within the governorate. Eiman Nabil emphasized that these experiences in Alexandria and Aswan are crucial in forming a national digital framework for advertisement management.

The National Body for Advertising Regulation on Public Roads aims to build a unified national system that utilizes spatial data for monitoring, follow-up, and planning. This system will enable data-driven decision-making and improve the management of advertisement sites. The body seeks to create a national registry that includes spatial, technical, and regulatory data for advertisements, providing a comprehensive view of advertisement distribution and density.

The digital transformation initiative does not replace fieldwork but enhances its accuracy and effectiveness by linking ground observations with spatial and digital data. Eiman Nabil stressed that the body is committed to monitoring digital experiments in governorates and leveraging successful solutions to accelerate the development of a national system. This will foster integration between the body, governorates, new city authorities, and state agencies.

The ultimate goal of this initiative is to transition from advertisement enumeration to data-driven advertisement management, moving from fragmented databases to an interconnected geographic system. This will support stricter regulation, better planning, and more efficient management of advertisement sites, ultimately preserving the aesthetic appeal of public roads and axes nationwide.

By adopting a data-driven approach, Egypt aims to improve the management of public road advertisements, ensuring a more organized and visually appealing environment. The National Body for Advertising Regulation on Public Roads continues to work towards achieving this goal, with a focus on collaboration and innovation.
