Sources within Egypt's Hamata Al-Watan party have confirmed that Ahmed El-Attifi will continue to represent the party in parliament during the upcoming session. Conversely, four parties will not have parliamentary bodies due to having fewer than three members. These parties are: Al-Hurriya Al-Masri (2), Al-Muhafizin (1), Iradat Jil (1), and Al-Wa'i (1). The internal regulations of parliament also outline the responsibilities of parliamentary representatives, including expressing the views of their party and having priority in speaking in parliament.
Article 106 of the internal regulations states that the representative of a parliamentary body speaks on behalf of the body on all matters related to parliament and its activities. They also have priority in speaking over other members of the same party. Article 107 allows representatives of opposition parliamentary bodies to choose one of their own to represent their views, with priority in speaking in parliament.
