The Egyptian General Information Authority, led by Ambassador Alaa Youssef, has issued the latest edition of its monthly publication "European Papers: An Analytical Study of EU Policies". The 87th issue of the publication provides an in-depth analysis of the European Union's stances and decisions on various issues affecting Egypt and the region.

The publication covers several priority files, including Egyptian-European relations, developments in the Middle East, and crises in Sudan and Ethiopia, as well as the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict. It also reviews cultural and linguistic activities organized by the European Union in Cairo, highlighting the EU's efforts to enhance cultural and popular communication with Egyptian society.

The issue also focuses on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, particularly the crisis of water and basic services shortages. The European Union has allocated 43 million euros to projects aimed at restoring water services to nearly one million people and reducing health and environmental risks.

The publication also monitors the escalating Houthi threat against Saudi Arabia and commercial ships, and its impact on navigation security and international trade, particularly in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The European stance emphasizes the need to protect freedom of navigation and prevent escalation, while prioritizing a comprehensive political settlement in Yemen.

The issue pays special attention to the Sudanese crisis, following the moves of the Quintet Group, which includes the African Union, IGAD, the Arab League, the European Union, and the United Nations. The group is working to push for an inclusive Sudanese political process leading to democratic civilian rule.

The publication also addresses the Ethiopian situation, covering accelerating developments in the north, particularly renewed tensions in the Tigray region and concerns linked to escalating military activity and its impact on civilians and humanitarian aid delivery. The European Union has allocated 61 million euros to respond to urgent humanitarian needs.

The new issue of "European Papers" concludes by reviewing several international issues related to the global system, including the dispute between the United States and the International Criminal Court, in light of US sanctions imposed on the court's president and first prosecutor.
