Egypt's Financial Supervisory Authority, led by Dr. Islam Azzam, has approved the establishment and licensing of 11 new companies for non-bank financial activities. The licensed companies include those involved in venture capital, real estate investment funds, and specialized financial activities. This move aims to diversify investment opportunities and activate the markets. The decisions were made to support the growth of the non-bank financial sector.
Among the approved companies is "Mota Investment Group SPAC," which will operate in venture capital for acquisition purposes. Another company, "SPARK SPAC," has also been licensed for the same activity. These companies will provide new investment opportunities and stimulate the market. The Financial Supervisory Authority's decisions reflect its efforts to enhance the regulatory framework for non-bank financial activities.
The Authority has also licensed "Amtalak Real Estate Investment Fund" to operate as a real estate investment fund, which will support the diversification of investment products linked to the real estate sector. Additionally, "Morgaz Agricultural Investment Fund" has been established as a multi-issue private equity fund. These developments are expected to provide specialized investment tools for investors.
In the debt collection sector, the Authority has approved the registration of "Zen for Inquiry and Collection," "Al Riyada," "SAZ," and "Abu Shadi" in the register of debt collection companies. This brings the total number of registered debt collection companies to eight, enhancing the regulatory framework for non-bank financial activities.
The Authority has also granted temporary licenses to "Egypt Health Care Network" and "S One for Medical Services" to operate in the healthcare program management activity. This brings the total number of temporary licenses granted for this activity to 11. These licenses demonstrate the Authority's efforts to regulate and supervise the non-bank financial sector.
The Financial Supervisory Authority is responsible for regulating and supervising non-bank financial markets and instruments, including capital markets, futures contracts, insurance, mortgage finance, and leasing. The Authority's decisions are based on the recommendations of the Company Establishment and Licensing Committee, which reviews and issues initial and final approvals for companies.
