The Ordinary General Assembly of East Delta Electricity Production Company convened under the chairmanship of Dr. Eng. Ahmed Mahina, CEO of the Holding Company for Electricity in Egypt and head of the General Assembly. The meeting aimed to discuss and approve the company's performance results for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. During the meeting, Eng. Mohamed Amin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of East Delta Electricity Production, presented the company's achievements, which included various maintenance and upgrade projects.

The company implemented several maintenance and overhaul projects, as well as efficiency upgrades for production units, in line with its commitment to regular maintenance programs and manufacturer recommendations. Additionally, the company expanded its in-house execution of projects, which contributed to reduced maintenance costs and significant financial savings. Notable projects included overhauls and inspections of gas units at production stations, as well as participation in completing second-generation overhauls under the supervision of the manufacturer.

East Delta Electricity Production successfully completed inspections and overhauls of gas units at its power plants, including the execution of five combustion chamber inspections, four of which were for gas units 1G, 3G, and 5G at the Shabab power plant. The company also performed a limited inspection for gas units 1, 2, and 3 at the Ataka power plant using its in-house capabilities, without relying on external contractors. This approach resulted in significant cost savings for the company.

In a bid to maximize the utilization of its technical and engineering capabilities, the company completed the rehabilitation of boiler B1 at the West Damietta power plant. This involved replacing the upper pressure pipe manifold through in-house efforts, including dismantling, preparation, welding, and installation of the new manifold. The boiler was subsequently returned to service. Furthermore, the company enhanced the efficiency of the East Port Said power plant by rehabilitating the seawater intake line and addressing partial blockages.

The company's efforts to reduce expenses and optimize resources led to an increased reliance on local manufacturing and in-house maintenance and repair work across its sites. By leveraging its workshops, the company decreased maintenance costs and provided some manufacturing services to affiliated companies. The in-house workshops at Ataka, Abu Sultan, Damietta, and West Damietta power plants were activated to manufacture materials, rehabilitate and repair spare parts, valves, pump shafts, and gearboxes.

East Delta Electricity Production's strategy to boost in-house capabilities and reduce dependence on external suppliers yielded positive results. By executing maintenance and repair projects internally, the company achieved cost savings and improved production efficiency. The company's enhanced capabilities also enabled it to undertake more extensive projects, contributing to its overall performance and financial savings.

The company's achievements in the 2025-2026 fiscal year reflect its commitment to optimizing resources, enhancing production capacity, and reducing costs. By focusing on in-house maintenance, overhauls, and efficiency upgrades, East Delta Electricity Production is well-positioned to continue delivering strong performance in the future. The company's efforts to maximize its technical and engineering capabilities have yielded significant benefits, and its strategy is expected to have a lasting impact on its operations.
