Under the leadership of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qanswa, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, Dr. Sayed Qandeel, President of Capital University, attended the second meeting of the Higher Committee for the 58th Cairo International Book Fair, scheduled for 2027. The meeting aimed to review preparations for the upcoming event and discuss ways to improve the organizational and service aspects of the fair.
The meeting reviewed the architectural and engineering plan developed by Capital University's consulting center to improve the movement system within the exhibition and reorganize the distribution of booths. The plan also includes expanding the main corridors in the halls to enhance visitor movement and optimize the use of available spaces, ensuring equal opportunities for participating publishers.
Capital University's participation in the committee's work confirms the university's commitment to utilizing its academic, engineering, and consulting expertise to support national and cultural projects. The committee discussed the digital transformation plan for the exhibition, including the launch of a unified electronic application for the fair, scheduled for December 1st. The application will include smart book and publisher search services, interactive maps, and electronic ticket booking, with the possibility of adding an intelligent assistant with artificial intelligence and providing some services offline.
The meeting also addressed the development of infrastructure and networks within the Egypt International Exhibitions Center in coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The goal is to provide stable and effective digital services for exhibition visitors and review the results and statistics of the 57th edition to improve the organization and services for the upcoming event.
The committee discussed the proposed criteria for selecting the personalities and logo of the 58th edition, as well as the main intellectual and cultural axes of the exhibition.
