The Egyptian government has launched the second phase of its Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, with services commencing on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The station exemplifies integrated transportation, featuring a bus charging and maintenance facility with 21 chargers, a building for Superjet passengers and affiliated companies, and designated areas for inter-provincial minibuses, private cars, and commercial services.
The BRT system integrates with various public transportation services, including the Cairo Metro Line 1 at Zahraa and Marg stations, and Line 3 at Adly Mansour and Imbaba stations. It also connects with the Light Rail Transit (LRT) at Adly Mansour station and the East Nile Monorail at Marshal Tantawi station. This integration aims to provide seamless travel experiences across Cairo.
The expanded BRT service covers several key areas, including New Cairo, Maadi, Mokattam, and parts of the Cairo Ring Road.
