The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics reported that the trade exchange between Egypt and South Korea reached $874 million during the first eight months of 2026, compared to $920 million during the same period in 2025. This represents a slight decrease in trade exchange between the two countries. The report also showed that Egyptian exports to South Korea amounted to $58 million during the first eight months of 2026, compared to $53 million during the same period in 2025.

The report revealed that Egyptian imports from South Korea reached $816 million during the first eight months of 2026, compared to $867 million during the same period in 2025. The main commodities exported by Egypt to South Korea during this period included food industry waste, animal feed worth $22 million, fuel and mineral oils worth $18 million, pasta and snacks worth $3 million, aluminum and its products worth $2 million, and fruits and edible nuts worth $2 million.

On the other hand, the report highlighted the main commodities imported by Egypt from South Korea during the first eight months of 2026, which included electrical and mechanical appliances and their parts worth $250 million, cars, tractors, motorcycles, and their parts worth $143 million, plastics and their products worth $99 million, iron and steel and their products worth $92 million, and original components for car manufacturing worth $37 million.

The report also indicated that the value of South Korean investments in Egypt reached $413.8 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $288.3 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year. Meanwhile, the value of Egyptian investments in South Korea reached $296.9 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $179.6 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year.

In terms of remittances, the report showed that the value of remittances sent by Egyptians working in South Korea reached $5.9 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $7.7 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year. Conversely, the value of remittances sent by South Koreans working in Egypt reached $4.81 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $4.84 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year.

The population of Egypt was recorded at 109.6 million people in October 2026, while the population of South Korea was recorded at 51.6 million people during the same period. According to estimates, there are approximately 3,000 Egyptian citizens living in South Korea as of the end of 2025.
