EcoCash, a leading financial technology company in Zimbabwe, has won three gold medals at the 2026 SMEs International Expo held in Harare. The medals were awarded in the Business Partner, Outstanding Exhibition (Corporates), and “Working Together” categories. This recognition highlights EcoCash's commitment to supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and its high-quality corporate exhibition at the event.

The awards acknowledge EcoCash's leadership in engaging with entrepreneurs and showcasing innovative digital financial solutions designed to help small businesses manage their daily operations efficiently. At the center of its award-winning exhibition was the EcoCash Plus Business Wallet, a platform that combines customer payments, business expenses, and additional earning opportunities. This wallet is designed to provide SMEs with a simple and convenient way to transact and manage their businesses.

An EcoCash spokesperson expressed the company's honor in receiving these awards, which were dedicated to its customers and business partners. The spokesperson emphasized that these awards affirm EcoCash's commitment to working with SMEs and entrepreneurs, providing them with practical digital financial solutions. The company aims to make it convenient for SMEs to transact and manage their businesses with ease, recognizing their critical role in Zimbabwe's economic landscape.

The awards come as part of EcoCash's broader efforts to strengthen its support for SMEs across various sectors, including tourism, hospitality, retail, transport, agriculture, and services. Recently, the company showcased EcoCash Plus at the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo in Masvingo, which attracted nearly 400 exhibitors. This provided another opportunity for EcoCash to engage with SMEs and understand their specific payment requirements.

EcoCash Plus is designed for SMEs, micro-enterprises, informal traders, and service providers, supporting transactions between customers and businesses, businesses and individuals, and businesses and their suppliers. The wallet offers various features, including zero monthly charges, no hidden fees, and instant liquidation, giving SMEs flexibility in accessing and managing their money. Additionally, SMEs can earn commissions through airtime and ZESA sales.

The EcoCash Plus wallet provides SMEs with a range of benefits, including the ability to receive customer payments directly into the wallet, provide digital change, and make payments to individuals, suppliers, and utility bills. Each transaction generates a digital record, helping business owners track their finances, reconcile their accounts, and maintain visibility of business activity. The wallet is accessible through established channels, including USSD and point-of-sale platforms.

EcoCash plans to further enhance its services with the EcoCash Super App, which will bring business transactions and an expanding range of services onto an integrated platform. SMEs can apply for the EcoCash Plus wallet through the EcoCash WhatsApp Chatbot, with applications processed within 24 hours. The company remains committed to engaging with SMEs and entrepreneurs to expand access to solutions and services that support their operations.
