DRC: Kabuya Mocks Opposition's Mobilization Capacity
The secretary general of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), Augustin Kabuya, has ridiculed the opposition's ability to mobilize mass protests in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
- Kabuya made the remarks after a march by the Coalition 64 (C64) against a proposed constitutional amendment was dispersed by police.
- He accused C64 leaders Martin Fayulu and Jean-Marc Kabund of lacking the ability to transform their online presence into physical mobilization.
Kabuya also claimed that he had requested the postponement of a parliamentary session to avoid clashes between protesters and lawmakers.
