French watchmaker Depancel has introduced a new limited edition watch, the Autosport 2 Tours d’Horloge, to commemorate the 24-hour 2 Tours d’Horloge car race. The watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters. Two interchangeable bracelets are available: one made of bullhide leather with a steel buckle and the other a metal bead-style bracelet.
The watch’s dial is designed to resemble a racing track and features a 24-hour display, allowing the wearer to track the hours elapsed during the 24-hour race. A pusher at 2 o’clock allows the wearer to manually advance the hour marker. The dial also features luminous hour markers and hands, as well as a date display at 6 o’clock and a day of the week display at 9 o’clock. The Saturday and Sunday are highlighted in yellow to match the racing event’s schedule.
The Miyota 9122 movement powering the watch is a Japanese automatic caliber that provides a 40-hour power reserve. It features a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and includes a stop-second function for precise time-setting. The movement’s oscillating weight is decorated with a car grille pattern and the Depancel logo.
