Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan'iya, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Governorship Candidate in Sokoto State, has expressed profound appreciation to the youths, women, elders, and supporters of the ADC in Sokoto North Local Government Area and Kware Local Government Area for staging massive solidarity rallies in support of his 2027 governorship candidature. The rallies, which drew approximately 40,000 youths, were a significant demonstration of growing confidence in the ADC and its vision for a new direction in Sokoto State.
Dan'iya thanked the ADC youth leaders and organisers for mobilising about 30,000 youths in Sokoto North and another 10,000 youths in Kware. He described the unprecedented show of solidarity as a powerful demonstration of the growing confidence in the ADC and its vision for a new direction in Sokoto State. In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, Dan'iya said he was deeply moved by the participation of men, women, young people, and elderly citizens who voluntarily came out to identify with his candidature and the ADC movement.
The scale of the mobilisation was particularly significant because the gubernatorial campaign is only beginning, yet citizens have already taken the initiative to publicly express their desire for political change. Dan'iya said, "I am humbled and encouraged by this extraordinary show of support. The people came out on their own, and that tells us that something is changing in the political consciousness of Sokoto." He commended the ADC youth leaders and all those who organised the rallies, saying their initiative demonstrates that young people are no longer prepared to remain passive participants in the political process.
Dan'iya said the growing involvement of youths in the ADC reflects a desire for a political platform capable of responding to the economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and declining opportunities confronting Nigerians. "ADC is emerging as a platform through which Nigerians can express their desire for a new political direction and a government that puts the welfare of ordinary citizens first," Dan'iya said. The ADC candidate emphasised that the massive participation from Sokoto North and Kware was also a reflection of the fact that the youth constitute a decisive force in determining the future of Sokoto State.
He said the energy demonstrated by the participants would further strengthen his commitment to making security, employment, education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, water supply, and economic development central pillars of his campaign. Dan'iya assured the youths that their concerns would remain at the heart of his political agenda and urged them to continue to participate peacefully and responsibly in the democratic process. He emphasised that the rallies should not be interpreted merely as political gatherings but as an expression of the aspirations of citizens who want government to deliver tangible improvements in their lives.
Dan'iya urged the participants to take the message of peaceful political participation to their families, communities, and wards, while encouraging them to remain united irrespective of political, ethnic, or social differences. "The strength of this movement must not be measured only by the size of our rallies, but by the quality of the ideas, the discipline of our supporters, and our commitment to building a better Sokoto," he said. He further called on ADC supporters across the 23 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State to remain peaceful, respectful, and issue-driven as the campaign gathers momentum.
Dan'iya said the party would continue to engage citizens directly, listen to their concerns, and present practical solutions to the challenges facing the state. "To the 30,000 youths of Sokoto North and the 10,000 youths of Kware, I say thank you. To the women, elders, and every citizen who stood with you, I am deeply grateful. Your support has strengthened my resolve to stand firm for a safer, more prosperous, and more dignified Sokoto.
