Portuguese journalist Miguel Pereira has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo will return to the Portugal national team for a final appearance. Pereira made the statement on talkSPORT's Sunday Edition, suggesting that bridges are being built between Ronaldo's camp, coach Jorge Jesus, and the Portuguese Football Federation. This development comes after Ronaldo's unexpected exit from the team a day before their UEFA Nations League match against Denmark.
Ronaldo's departure from the national team was reportedly due to his dissatisfaction with coach Jorge Jesus, who did not play him in the team's win against Norway. Pereira believes that the Portuguese Football Federation is keen on having Ronaldo back due to the publicity he brings. The federation is said to be interested in having Ronaldo score his 21 remaining goals, with the aim of him scoring his last goal for Portugal.
Pereira drew a comparison between Ronaldo's desire to score his last goal for Portugal and Pele's celebration when he scored his 1,000th goal. According to Pereira, Ronaldo wants to score his last goal for Portugal in a similar manner. This has sparked speculation about Ronaldo's future with the national team and his potential return for a final appearance.
Ronaldo currently plays for Al-Nassr and has been a key player for the team. His return to the Portugal national team would be a significant boost for the team, especially in terms of publicity and fan engagement. Pereira's claims have generated significant interest among football fans, who are eagerly awaiting confirmation of Ronaldo's return.
The Portuguese Football Federation has not officially confirmed Pereira's claims, but the journalist's statements have sparked widespread speculation. Ronaldo's relationship with coach Jorge Jesus has been strained in recent times, and it remains to be seen how this development will affect his future with the national team.
Ronaldo's potential return to the Portugal national team would come as a surprise to many, given his recent exit. However, Pereira's claims suggest that there are ongoing efforts to reconcile Ronaldo with the team and coach. This development has significant implications for the team's future, particularly in terms of their performance in upcoming matches.
The news of Ronaldo's potential return has generated significant excitement among football fans, who are eager to see him play for Portugal once again. While there is no official confirmation, Pereira's claims have provided a glimpse into the ongoing developments surrounding Ronaldo's future with the national team.
