Fastlink Connections Limited and three others will face a hearing at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court from September 21 to 23, with the suit seeking recovery of Sh14 million allegedly embezzled from Nairobi City county. Another case involves former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chief executive Humphrey Oswago and two others, who face allegations of wilful failure to comply with procurement procedures and guidelines related to alleged bribery involving the purchase of ballot papers.
Two land recovery cases are also set to be heard this week, one involving recovery of LR Machakos Municipality Block 1/609, which was reserved for Machakos Prison, and another seeking recovery of public land registered as Limuru/Township/195. Several other corruption-related cases will come up for mention, including a case involving Billy Otieno Obango and others seeking recovery of Sh1.5 billion intended for the Programme for Rural Outreach of Financial Innovations and Technologies.
Other notable cases include one involving former Murang'a Governor Francis Mwangi wa Iria and eight others, who are charged with conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption, unlawful acquisition of public property, conflict of interest, and money laundering, concerning a contract worth Sh351.1 million awarded by the county government to Top Image Media Consultants Limited. A case involving Kirimi Peter Kaberia and 12 others will be mentioned on September 22, seeking recovery of Sh330.5 million allegedly unlawfully paid to Auditel Kenya as an advance payment for a tender.
