The 96th anniversary of Saudi Arabia's National Day was celebrated in Conakry, Guinea, on September 23, 2026. The ceremony took place at the Chapiteau By Issa, located at the esplanade of the Palais du Peuple. The event was attended by numerous official, diplomatic, media, and religious personalities. This celebration is one of the most prestigious diplomatic and institutional events in Guinea.

The Saudi National Day commemorates the unification of the Kingdom and the foundation of its modern state, not its independence. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was formed by the unification of its territories under one banner, led by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. The celebration reflects the depth of historical relations between Saudi Arabia and Guinea, based on "fraternity, friendship, and mutual respect."

Saudi Ambassador to Guinea, Dr. Fahad bin Eid Al-Rashidi, addressed the guests, highlighting the symbolic significance and progress made since the foundation of the modern Saudi state. He mentioned the Vision 2030, a strategic plan aimed at diversifying the national economy, reducing oil dependence, and modernizing administrative and social infrastructure.

The Vision 2030 has led to tangible progress, including increased non-oil revenues, improved governance, and accelerated digital transformation. Saudi Arabia has also made significant strides in promoting women's empowerment, with increased participation in the workforce. The country has been recognized globally, hosting major events such as Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

The celebration also underscores the strong fraternal bond between Riyadh and Conakry, paving the way for closer bilateral cooperation in the years to come. The two countries have strengthened their cooperation under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya.

Saudi Arabia has made significant investments in Guinea's socio-economic development, including infrastructure projects in healthcare, education, and culture. Notable projects include the rehabilitation of the Donka National Hospital, modernization of vocational training institutions, and provision of scholarships to Guinean students.

The Saudi Fund for Development has approved major financial commitments, including $75 million for a maternity and childhood hospital in Coyah and $50 million for the second phase of the Integrated Rural Development Project. These initiatives demonstrate the strong partnership between Saudi Arabia and Guinea.
