The Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) has announced that it has entered into a major investment agreement with MNT Tech Holding for Financial Investments S.A.E., known as MNT-Halan, and MNT Investments B.V. on September 24, 2026. As part of this agreement, CIB will purchase shares in MNT-Halan's international offering, which is part of the company's stock offering on the Egyptian Exchange, with a total investment value of up to 2 billion EGP.

This investment reflects CIB's commitment to supporting leading Egyptian companies with strong growth potential, while continuing to enhance its presence in the Egyptian financial services and capital markets sectors. According to Amr El-Genainy, CIB's Deputy CEO and Executive Board Member, the bank is proud to play a leading role in supporting the non-banking financial sector, which is a key component of Egypt's economy.

El-Genainy emphasized the importance of working to support the diversification of financing tools and mechanisms in the Egyptian market, particularly newer tools based on financial technology and digital applications. He cited MNT-Halan as an example of a company that has achieved outstanding results in recent times and is expected to achieve further expansions and new accomplishments in the coming period.

MNT-Halan was founded by Monir Nakhla, who serves as the company's Founder, CEO, and Managing Director. The company has been a pioneer in the Egyptian non-banking financial services sector, providing a range of financial services, including financing, payments, investments, and e-commerce. Nakhla expressed his pleasure that CIB, a long-standing partner, has joined the company as a shareholder.

The relationship between CIB and MNT-Halan dates back over 15 years, with CIB having supported the company's growth and development throughout this period. Nakhla noted that CIB's exceptional knowledge of the Egyptian market and its expertise will be of great value to MNT-Halan as it builds its future growth strategy.

MNT-Halan has established itself as one of the most prominent technology-driven non-banking financial services companies in Egypt. Since its founding in December 2009, the company has disbursed 178 billion EGP in financing and served approximately 7.9 million customers as of June 2026.

The company's platform combines a digital application, "Hala," with an extensive physical network of over 1,200 distribution points across 25 governorates in Egypt, providing a wide range of financial services. With CIB's investment, MNT-Halan is poised to further expand its operations and enhance its position in the Egyptian financial services sector.
