Governor Uba Sani's leadership style, which emphasizes even development and fairness to all citizens, has been commended by Christian and Muslim leaders in Kaduna State. The religious leaders praised the governor at a Special Interfaith Dialogue held at the Brigadier Abba Kyari Banquet Hall, organized by the Kaduna State Bureau of Interfaith. They noted that Kaduna State has enjoyed relative peace and harmony since Governor Sani assumed office over three years ago.
The event, which coincided with the International Day of Peace, brought together speakers who highlighted the achievements of Governor Sani's administration. They canvassed for the governor's re-election to continue his inclusive governance philosophy. Governor Sani recalled that when he assumed office in 2023, he promised to run an inclusive government that would win the hearts and minds of the people of Kaduna State and the country at large.
Governor Sani emphasized that his model of governance is simple and based on justice, bringing everyone to the table. He noted that Kaduna State was highly toxic and divided when he took office, but his administration has worked to restore the state's glory. The governor allocated land to some people, but they refused to build due to their faiths, which he described as unacceptable.
Reverend Caleb Ma'aji, Chairman of the Kaduna State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), praised Governor Sani for his achievements, including the completion of two road projects and the almost completed third project. Ma'aji also thanked the governor for re-introducing the Christian pilgrimage to Jordan and Jerusalem, which was sponsored by the governor. He expressed gratitude for the governor's actions and looked forward to continued progress.
Professor Khalid Aliyu, Secretary General of Jamaátul Nasir Islam, noted that the theme of the Special Interfaith Dialogue coincides with the International Day of Peace. He described Governor Sani as a peacemaker and highlighted the achievements of his administration, including increased access to education through slashed tuition fees in Kaduna State-owned tertiary institutions.
Sheikh Haliru Maraya enumerated the achievements of Governor Sani's administration, including a significant reduction in insecurity incidents, kidnappings, and school closures. He noted that under the previous administration, 4,876 lives were lost due to insecurity, 7,694 people were kidnapped, and 1,660 insecurity incidents were recorded. In contrast, Kaduna State now has all schools open, and farmlands are being cultivated again.
Bishop David Bakare, National Secretary of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), confessed that he initially did not vote for Governor Sani but has since changed his opinion. He praised the governor's achievements and expressed support for his re-election, citing the governor's commitment to fairness and justice for all citizens.
