The Children's Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), a regional child rights and social justice intermediary organization, is seeking a qualified Finance and Accounts Officer to join its team in Kampala, Uganda. CRVPF operates in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, partnering with community organizations to prevent violence, including sexual violence, against children and youth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, ensuring accurate and timely donor reporting, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

The Finance and Accounts Officer will be responsible for posting daily transactions in QuickBooks Online, ensuring accurate recording of pre-payments, processing invoices, and handling reimbursements. The role will also involve assisting with monthly reconciliations, preparing financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and budget forecasts to support decision-making. Additionally, the officer will participate in proposal and budget reviews to ensure realistic, compliant, and program-aligned budgeting.

The ideal candidate for this position holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field, with a recognized professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA. The candidate should have over 7-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years of experience working in an international NGO. Experience managing large donor awards, grant finance, and accounting is highly preferred. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online software and MS Office Suite is also required.

The Finance and Accounts Officer will play a critical role in ensuring financial compliance and accuracy within CRVPF. The officer will identify financial risks, inconsistencies, or non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions. Occasional field visits will be required to verify financial records and program expenditure as approved. The officer will also ensure payments, taxes, insurance, and other financial obligations are accurate and compliant with company policies.

In addition to technical skills and experience, the successful candidate will possess high organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain records systematically, and communicate effectively with colleagues, partners, and vendors. The officer will handle sensitive financial information responsibly and respectfully, maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
